BOOKS ON TAROT
I began my learning with Mary K. Greer's Tarot for Yourself: A Workbook for Personal Transformation, and still refer to this book today. It is an incredible tool for learning Tarot, particularly for delving into your own personal symbology and creating a true connection with whatever deck you choose.

My first Tarot reference book, I find Anthony Lewis's Tarot Plain and Simple to be, well, plain and simple. Each card has both upright and reveresed lists of keywords, phrases, and advice.

While I do not own Learning the Tarot: A Tarot Book For Beginners, I am a huge fan of Joan Bunning who created an incredible website based on her book. If her book is anywhere near as informative and easy to use as her website, it is well worth having.

TAROT & ORACLE CARDS
Although I do not own The Oracle of the Goddess cards myself (yet), I have had the fantastic opportunity to use them and find them both beautiful and incredibly insightful.

My trusty old Rider Waite Tarot cards are currently my favorite deck - although I certainly never expected them to be. This truly is a fantastic deck to start out with, especially if meditating on each card and delving into the particular symbology. I do not use the booklet that accompanied the deck since I find it to be too brief and often negative.
